Who is Berto The VO?

Berto The VO is Roberto Jolliffe (Roberto V. Jolliffe III), a Texas-based voice actor who voices commercials, promos, animation, video game characters, live event announcing and narration. He is a One Voice Awards nominee (2024, 2025 and 2026), spoke at the 2026 One Voice Conference in Dallas, and wrote the illustrated book "Ahhh, So You Want to Be a Voice Over Actor!?"

What kinds of voice over work does Berto do?

Commercials (TV, radio, streaming and digital), promos and trailers, animation and cartoon characters, video game characters, live event and stadium announcing, audiobooks, eLearning and corporate narration, explainer videos, phone greetings and IVR, and podcast intros and outros.

What's the difference between a voice actor, voice over artist and voice over talent?

There isn't one. As Berto writes in his book, “Voice Over Actors can be referred to as: Voice Over Talent, Voice Over Artist, and Voice Actors as well.” You'll also see it spelled voiceover or voice-over, and people in the industry often just say VO artist or VO talent. All of these mean a performer who uses their voice to bring a script, brand or character to life.

What does Berto's voice sound like?

Deep, rich and versatile. He covers warm, conversational General American reads, African American and urban reads, and high-energy animated characters. His playable age range is about 13 to 55.

Which brands has Berto voiced for?

Clients and campaigns include Pop-Tarts, Del Taco, Old Spice, PepsiCo, Mountain Dew, Frito-Lay, Burger King, Beyond Meat, Liquid I.V., NASCAR, John Deere, Visa, the Philadelphia Union and an HBO Max promo, along with many small businesses.

How fast is turnaround?

Most scripts are recorded, edited and delivered within 24 hours.

Can Berto record a live directed session?

Yes. He is Source-Connect certified (username: BertoTheVO) and can also be directed over Zoom.

What is in Berto's home studio?

A Studiobricks One Plus VO Edition booth, Neumann U 87, Sennheiser MKH 416 and MKH 8060 microphones, a Universal Audio Apollo Twin X interface, and iZotope RX 11 for cleanup. Audio is delivered broadcast-ready.

What file formats can Berto deliver?

WAV and MP3, at whatever specs your project needs.

Is Berto union or non-union?

Berto works non-union projects and is SAG-AFTRA eligible.

Does Berto have agency representation?

Yes: DPN (California).

Where is Berto located?

Texas. He records remotely and works with clients anywhere in the world.
