Animation, Character & Video Game Voice Over
I’m Roberto “Berto The VO” Jolliffe, a Texas-based voice actor for animation, cartoons and video games, and honestly, this is where I get to play. I’ve voiced characters in Akedo: Ultimate Ninja Warriors, Paw Patrol: Mighty Pups toy play and the mobile game Critical Strike, and I was a 2024 One Voice Awards nominee for Best Character Performance in Animation. Heroes, villains, tough guys, goofy sidekicks and kid-friendly characters: I bring big energy, improv instincts from The Groundlings, and a wide range to every role.
I’ve been the class clown since way before it paid, so bring me the weird ones. The louder, stranger and more over-the-top the character, the more fun we’re going to have.
Characters I’ve voiced
- Akedo: Ultimate Ninja Warriors – Slam Granderson, Buster Bling and Static
- Paw Patrol: Mighty Pups (toy play) – Sam Stringer
- Critical Strike (mobile game) – Carl Jones
- “Amazing Tale of Space” animated series – Captain Zane
- “Mutant Boxer” – Buster Splits
- The Ultimate Super Mario Bros. Wonder recap cartoon
- Sci-fi character narration and an animated character challenge
I was also selected by the DreamWorks Animation team at That’s Voice Over Expo to read for Head of Casting Ania O’Hare. Watch the read.

Range
Give me a sketch and a sentence, and I’ll give you a voice. Playable ages of about 13 to 55, from deep and gritty to high-pitched and zany. I create original characters from art, a description or a reference, and I’m trained in clean efforts (attacks, hits, jumps, deaths) for games.
For video games
- Character dialogue, barks and callouts
- Efforts and combat sounds
- Long sessions and pickups recorded with the same mic setup and levels, so new lines match the old ones
- Live-directed sessions over Source-Connect or Zoom
Animation and games training
Workshops and coaching with Eric Bauza (voice match and cartoon masterclass), Dave Fennoy (video game characters and character efforts), Jason Lord of Crunchyroll (anime), Portia Scott (character animation), Micaela Hicks of Eris Talent (animation auditions), Arianna Ratner (animation and gaming), Kristin Paiva (animation casting), Julia Bianco Schoeffling (video games), Jennifer Hale, Byron Marc Newsome and Randal Ryan (character creation), Lisa Ortiz (dubbing), Ron Rubin, and The Groundlings’ voice animation courses.
